The Chicago-style deep-dish pizza was created by a relocated Texan named Ike Sewell. He settled in Chicago and opened Pizzeria Uno in 1943, before pizza was a favorite meal among Americans. Now Sewell’s creation has come back to his Texas roots and has taken its place as a top fare for Houstonians.
